Materials

Materials

  • Orange felt
  • White felt
  • Brown felt
  • Orange thread
  • Brown Thread
  • Red thread
  • Pins
  • Needle
  • Ribbon (optional)
  • Ball chain (optional)

Template: The main rectangle is basically the size of a normal card (e.g. Library Card) + 0.5 cm around all the edges (9 cm x 6.5 cm). Everything else is up to whatever shape or design you want.

2 x Main Rectangle
2 x Main Rectagle + centre cut out ( the size of this depends on you)
4 x Ears
2 x Ear details (the brown bit)
2 x Eyes
1 x Snout
1 x nose

2SewingEars

  • On each ear sew the brown part onto the middle of it
  • Then take the other piece of the ear and sew together using blanket stitch

Sewing Face

  • Then on one rectangle, arrange how you want the face to be
  • Sew the face details on + blush marks. I drew it on at the end because I forgot..
  • Then on the main rectangle with the cut out, take both pieces and sew the inside part together

Sew edges

  • Take the main rectangle and the face rectangle and sew one edge + Ear
  • Take the two  rectangles with the cut out, and sew one edge as well
  • These edges will be the opening of where the card will be placed

5SewingEtogether

  • Place the main rectangle and the one with the cut out together
  • Start sewing them together, avoiding the edges you just sewed ( so you will be sewing 4 layers of felt, and only three sides because you don’t need to sew the edges from before)
  • Place the other ear as you move along
  • Once you get to the corner or top of the card holder, you can place your ribbon and sew it in place

6Completed

  • And it’s completed !
  • Here it is with my bus card ( I stuck a Rilakkuma card sticker on it)

7Completed

  • Here is what I mean with the edges.
  • They become the opening of where you place your card and the other end is sealed

8Completed

Here it is attached to my phone

You can see it’s about 0.5cm larger on all sides of the card

———-

And there you go !

It’s fairly simple once you get all the cutting of the felt out of the way ^^
I might even have some pre-cut out pieces of different designs on sale in my etsy…

[Felt Crafts] # 8 – Cream Dollop

Hello Hello my readers ! :D

So I just spent a little time today making some more tutorials on felt.
I’ll be doing about 4 variations of cream that you can make to decorate your creations ^^

Today’s one is fairly simple but … it doesn’t look as full as I would like – though that ofc is easily adjustable to your tastes

(Also , I would like to apologize for the quality of these images…  I made them very late  )

Lets go !

—–

Materials:

materials

  • Any colour felt you want
  • Hot glue gun ( or super glue)
  • a peg if you are using super glue
  • Needle
  • Corresponding thread colour to felt
  • scissors

Template :
So for this template , the round part above those bottom dots are the main shape of the cream. The bits that come out after those two lower dots are to be folded and glued in. This created the ‘volume’ and detail to the cream.
Remember when cutting your own template, fold it in half and then cut to make sure your get it exactly symmetrical.

sewingTogether

  • This image is a bit smalll .. please click to enlarge ahaha
  • Okay, once the template has been cut out, pin to the felt and cut out 5 pieces
  • Then stack all of them together, and sew down the middle
  • I tried to use a brighter thread  – but yout still cant see it…

3Gluing

  • Now get your glue gun / super glue and add some onto those tab parts and fold it inwards
  • It didn’t show well on the felt so here it is on the paper ( second image)
  • Fold all the tabs going in the same direction
  • If you are using super glue, use a peg to hold the tab down until it dries. This was too time consuming for me so I didn’t use super glue

completed cream

  • And here it is completed. I apologize.. the images are kind of ugly.. the cream looks better in rl.. hurhru
  • Top / bottle / top  (view)

The shape is little strange right ? You have to kind of arrange those tab parts to make it look more cream like. Also, the more tab parts you have, I would imagine that the cream would look more full.
The problem I had with this was that I pulled a bit tight when I was sewing it – so you can kind of see in the third image the exact middle ahaha.. try to avoid this please

——

So yes, there you go !

Next I will be uploading two or the rest of the three because they are so easy and fast to make !

I hope you liked this tutorial and that it helped you !!

[Felt Crafts] # 7 – Watermelon and Kiwifruit slice

Hello Hello,,

HAPPY VALENTINES EVERYONE !!!

Ill be making a valentine craft this weekend so for now, please bear with this post ^

Today is the Watermelon and Kiwifruit slice as you can see from the title c:

Shall we begin ?

———-

Watermelon:

Materials

1Materials

  • Red felt
  • White felt
  • Green felt
  • Corresponding thread colours
  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Marker ( optional green and black)

Template:
Basically, you want to fold the paper in half, and draw a triangle that will become your water melon slice + cut it out (try to round out the outer edge a bit) . You can see in the image above that I have dotted in a little triangle where the fold is. Instead of having your watermelon slice in a 2D shape, you will sew the watermelon in a way that will create a small triangle shape so you will get that back edges of the slice.

Next, you will approximately draw another long triangle ‘slice’ that will become the base. Don’t worry too much about accuracy because you can just trim the felt as you need to.

2Completed

  • Red felt : Cut out 1 x base shape, and 1 x main slice
  • White felt : Cut out 1 x base shape
  • Green felt: Cut out 1 x base shape
  • Using black thread, add the seeds onto the main slice shape. If you want, a marker will work as well
  • Using red thread, sew along that top edge and then around the bottom , adding the base.
  • Before you close it off, add stuffing into the watermelon
  • Then using glue, just stick on the base shapes, with white first and then green.
  • If you want, you can also use a dark green marker to add some patterns to create that watermelon look.

And thats it… hurhur easy ?

———————————

Now for the Kiwifruit

Materials

1Materials

  • Light green felt
  • White felt
  • Green felt
  • Black pen / black thread
  • Circular shape

2Completed

  • Using the circular shape, cut out a couple of circles on the green felt
  • The thickness of the kiwifruit slice will be up to how many layers of the circle you use
  • Glue the green layers together and wait for it to dry
  • Then, on the white felt, cut out two smaller circles
  • Glue the white circles one of each side of the green
  • Using a black pen, add the ‘seeds’ onto the kiwifruit. If you want, you can use black thread, however, you should do that on the layers before gluing it together
  • Then, using pastel or some green marker, add some lines t add that extra detail
  • Then cut the slice into whatever shape you want it to be

You can see that I did a really bad job in ‘shading’…. I didn’t have a green marker so  just used this pastel  – clearly a mistake ahahah

——————

So that’s really all there is to this.
I believe this is the end to the fruits so next up should be some deco felt pieces such as tart bases and such.

Thank you so much for reading !

[Felt Crafts] # 6 – The Pineapple and Apple Slice

Hey guys !

Today’s felt craft will be the Pineapple and Apple slices, they are super easy so I compiled them into one post.

Enjoy !

——-

Materials – Apple

1Materials

  • Red felt
  • White felt
  • Glue

Template

  • The size of the apple slice depends on you , so draw how big/ shape you want it to be
  • The thickness also depends on you so pin the template on however many pieces of felt – In my case , 3 layers
  • Cut out around the template
  • Cut out a strip of red – don’t worry about how accurate it is , you can always trim the felt after you stick it on

3Completed

  • Glue the pieces of ‘apple’ on top of each other
  • Glue the strip of red around the apple
  • Trim away any excess felt

And thats it ! Easy yes ?

Materials – Pineapple

1Completed

  • Yellow felt
  • Yellow thread
  • Draw the shape of your pineapple slice
  • Layer it onto another piece – thickness is up to you
  • Pin pieces together
  • Using yellow thread, sew on the lines
  • Cut around the template
  • Glue around the edges to make sure the layers stay together

———

And that’s both of them ^^

Sliced Strawberry

Strawberry wedge

And now, the Cherry !

———–

Materials

1Materials

2WrongColour

This is just a comparison picture with dark red and normal red felt. It’s really up to you which colour you prefer

3CherryStem

  • With the brown, cut out a thin strip of brown (not so thin that it will break)
  • and near the end, tie a knot – this is the stem
  • If you later find that it’s too long, you can always trim it.
  • If you have brown string , do the same thing.

4AttachingStem

  • On the dark red felt, cut out a circle
  • Mark the centre and make a small cut
  • Place the brown felt / string through the hole

5Completed

  • Attach the stem to the red felt
  • Use a running stitch on the outside edge
  • Pull and close in the edges
  • Adding stuffing and close the ‘entrance’

—————

And it’s completed ! ^^
